Microsoft made a lot of announcements at its E3 2017 press conference and the backward compatibility support for original Xbox games was one of them. While the company has confirmed the original Xbox games backward compatibility for the console but, Microsoft also wants to bring it to PC.
Speaking with PCGamer, Xbox head Phil Spencer was asked if he wants to see the original Xbox games emulation on PC and to that he said “Yes”. He explained that things get challenging while trying to emulate games in a way that works for PC with so many different configurations but that “it’s in our future”.
During the same interview, Spencer also talked about the Xbox Game Pass service that is currently available for Xbox One and offers a library of Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles. According to Spencer, he wants to bring Xbox Game Pass to PC but it is not ready not yet.
