Ubisoft’s New IP “Skull and Bones” is a Re-Skinned Black Flag

Ubisoft Singapore has announced a new IP, Skull and Bones. The long rumored pirate game takes you to the Indian Ocean and is an online title that wants you to become the ultimate pirate. The MMO game is taking Black Flag’s naval battles to create a new experience.

It is an online-only title that is releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, and PC. Ubisoft has clearly re-skinned Black Flag which is not necessarily a bad thing.  Skull and Bones has a shared open world where the players will try to take over the trade routes.

You can choose your captain, recruit crew, and customize your ships. Raid the Hunting Grounds alone or group with other players to hunt larger prey.

It is the Golden Age of Piracy. Renegade captains command the most powerful weapons on Earth: warships. You are a pirate captain who has refused the king’s pardon and sailed from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean, an untamed frontier full of lavish riches. However, these waters are also a battleground where far-reaching colonial empires, powerful trading corporations, and ruthless pirate gangs clash. In order to survive, you will have to build a lethal fleet, prey upon lucrative trade routes, and ally with other pirates in your endless struggle for supremacy.

It is unclear if the title features a single-player story mode but we can expect some sort of a lore. Other players aren’t the only ones you need to worry about, there are also sea-based mythical creatures. Ubisoft’s new IP is releasing sometime in Fall 2018.
