During Ubisoft’s Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 media briefing, the Game Director for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Ashraf Ismail, took to the stage to present a brand new gameplay trailer for the game. As already confirmed, Assassin’s Creed: Origins takes place in Egypt: the land of pyramids, pharaohs, and mummies.

According to Ismail, the reason for heading to Egypt is to show players how it all began. The gameplay trailer shows an array of animals, landscapes, yet-to-be-seen protagonist, and the newly added shields. Since crafting is an essential component of the game, I assume that we would be able to hunt these animals for crafting materials.
On a side note, I did not enjoy the studio showing a portion of the gameplay with sun on a monitor recorded with a camcorder, but we should have an extensive gameplay demo soon.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins is scheduled to release in Oct. 27, 2017 on PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC. Ubisoft has promised to display a 30-minute long gameplay video at the end of the media briefing so make sure to check back in an hour.
