Need for Speed: Payback Project Scorpio and PS4 Pro Support Confirmed, No Nintendo Switch Version Yet

The new Need for Speed: Payback is going to support Project Scorpio and PS4 Pro. According to executive producer Marcus Nilsson, Ghost Games is working on Need for Speed: Payback Project Scorpio and PlayStation 4 Pro versions. While it is yet to be confirmed, it is safe to say that Project Scorpio would hit native 4K. Meanwhile, PS4 Pro would have to settle for checkerboard 4K upscale.

Nilsson also confirmed that there is no Nintendo Switch version for the time being. He mentioned that Switch might be able to run the game but this is not something they are looking at for the time being. The focus is consoles and PC. However, they are not completely ruling out NFS on Nintendo Switch.

Would that be a platform that Need for Speed: Payback could run on? I don’t see why [not], but it’s not something we’re looking to at this very moment.

Need for Speed: Payback gameplay trailer was revealed at EA PLAY and it looks pretty impressive. It confirms what everyone was speculating and assuming after the first trailer came out. Need for Speed: Payback is going the Fast and Furious route which isn’t a bad thing.

The gameplay trailer gave us a look at one of the set pieces we will get to experience in the game. It is a visually impressive game and EA claims that it plays as well as it looks. For the first time in years, Need for Speed looks fantastic.
