Tekken 7 Gigas Strategy Guide

Playing as Gigas

As a new character in T7, Gigas utilizes his damaging throws and aggressive playstyle to pressure opponents. However, thanks to his reach, he can also control space and keep his opponents at an arm’s length. One of the throws that outshines the others is his hcb + 1 + 2 that has high damage output and is buffer-able. Another cool thing about him is his Rage Drive during which he charges at his opponent and acquire enough frame advantage to force a 50/50.

If you face trouble closing out rounds, this mix-up of an unblockable high and wallsplatting mid is great! However, do note that the skilled players should know how to avoid it so be careful with it! He has strong punishing attacks, an i15 launcher with good range, and he can punish certain attacks that other characters struggle to punish. His range allows the player to punish whiff attacks like no other, therefore, take extra precaution when going against him.

Coming to his combo potential, he has d + 2 as his standard launcher. As a beginner combo, try d + 2, u/f + 1 + 2, 2. This simple combo deals decent damage. If you need something a little advanced, try d + 2, f + 2, f + 1, Screw!, Forward Dash, u/f + 3, d/f + 3, 1 + 2, 1 + 2. Coming to his wall combos, you can either use d/f + 1 + 2, 1 + 2 or 1, d/f + 4, 1 + 2.

His only downside is his poor low game. He does not have good range on low attacks that are easy to dodge. Overall, Gigas has a strong throw game, high damage output, the best jab punishment in the game, and confusing mix-ups. However, he does lack when it comes to sidestepping, range on low pokes, and poor punishment options outside the jab.
