Developer Monolith Productions is aiming for Shadow of War to be even better than Shadow of Mordor and recently, Monolith Productions announced the delay of the game. Now the studio has revealed that the game was delayed because they want it to be even better than Shadow of Mordor.
During the recent Twitch live stream, VP of Creative Micheal de Plater said that the E3 demo for the game is light years ahead of the build the studio is currently showing and most of the bugs and issues visible in the current build are already fixed.
He added that the “process of actually testing, debugging, fixing bugs is just absolutely massive”. He added that the studio wants the game to be polished even more than Shadow of Mordor by saying that “the level of polish and stability and balance has to be that of Shadow of Mordor, so there’s a really high bar that we have to meet”.
It makes sense that he studio is aiming for the highest quality for their game as the studio has already said that if they fail with the game, they are finished.
Shadow Of Mordor was a critical and commercial success, however, not all gamers picked it up partly due to it being a new IP. But, Monolith Productions is quite confident about its sequel and are making sure that for those who did not play the first one, Shadow Of War will be an entry point for them.
It’s really important for us that this is a point of entry. This is sort of the bigger blockbuster version of the game, so if you haven’t played Shadow and you start playing this one, it should be pretty easy to get into. Even if you don’t have prior knowledge of the movies.
Shadow Of War is an open-world action adventure game in development at Monolith Productions and is scheduled to launch on October 10, 2017, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
