Activision and Sledgehammer Games announced Call of Duty: WWII recently and talked about the game’s singleplayer mode in detail. We know that the game’s story will not shy away from controversial topics and Nazi atrocities.
We are also aware that the singleplayer campaign will feature operation cobra. Operation Cobra was an Allied operation that took place several weeks after D-Day, and included a massive aerial bombardment to help end the Normandy Breakout and penetrate France.
But when it comes to Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer, details are limited but below we have collected everything we know about the mode so far.
Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer – Everything We Know
The singleplayer mode will be historically accurate in terms of its setting, design, weapons, and events. Developers are going for as much authenticity with the game’s multiplayer as well. According to Sledgehammer Games, the multiplayer mode won’t have experimental weaponry and vehicles. Everything you use is going to be 100% authentic.
Sledgehammer Games are claiming that Call of Duty this year is going to be the most socially interactive game in the series. There is an HQ lobby that allows you to interact with 48 players.
Division Based Gameplay
Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer is going to feature three different divisions. Sledgehammer confirmed Infantry, Airborne, and Armored. This could be a major hint at vehicles coming to multiplayer modes. We can expect planes, tanks etc.
While some may not like it, Supply Drops are coming back so they will be a part of the multiplayer. More on that will be shared at E3 2017. However, it is confirmed that cartoonish cosmetic items won’t be included in the game.
At E3 2017, Sledgehammer Games are going to announce a multiplayer beta date. The beta has already been confirmed and will be available to those who preorder the game. PlayStation 4 users will have access to the beta first. The beta is likely to take place around August.
Playable At E3
Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer is going to be playable at E3 2017 for the first time. The multiplayer reveal will take place at Sony’s E3 press conference.
Call of Duty: WWII is releasing for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 3.
