AMD Ryzen 7 CPU Prices Drop By 23%, Ryzen 7 1700 Now Going For $299
Now that AMD Threadripper has been announced it seems that AMD Ryzen 7 CPU prices are getting a sudden drop. These price cuts have been seen on Amazon as well as Newegg so you can check them out if you are interested in getting a new CPU. AMD Ryzen 7 CPU prices were already very competitive as compared to Intel and now they are better than ever.
AMD Ryzen CPUs are known for their price to core count advantage and these CPUs feature 8 cores and 16 threads. If you are a gamer then this is more than what you need to get by. But these extra cores do come in handy if you are a content creator. At the top of the lot, we have the Ryzen 7 1800X CPU and the X stands for XFR.
You can now get this top of the line CPU for just $459. The little brother, the 1700X used to cost $399 but now you can get one for $349. These are some great discounts if you were looking to get an AMD CPU but were waiting for the right time. Moving further down we have 1700, this CPU used to cost $329 but you can get one now for $299.
One might think that Intel would be the one to drop prices first but it seems that AMD is confident with the Threadripper brand and has dropped priced ahead of launch. It is as we have always said, competition is great for the consumer and this is a great example of just that.
This AMD Ryzen 7 CPU price drop is just the start and with the release of AMD Threadripper and Intel X series, things will be getting more intense. AMD will also be releasing the AMD Ryzen 3 CPUs later this year and Intel will be releasing their Coffee Lake CPUs in the Summer as well. Things are going to get interesting.
