Paid Nintendo Switch Online Service is Coming; Here’s Everything You Need to Know
A paid Nintendo Switch Online service is coming our way soon. According to Nintendo, the service is going to be free until 2018. The paid service is only for Nintendo Switch and it will allow users to play online multiplayer with friends and gamers around the world.
Similar to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, players will need to use their official accounts to log-in. Create a Nintendo account and you’ll be able to play compatible co-op and competitive games online. Nintendo Switch online service is much cheaper compared to PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
According to Nintendo, the service will cost $3.99 a month, $7.99 for 3 months, and $19.99 for a year. Switch players will be offered a free trial as well. The service will be free until 2018 but it has missed its Fall 20187 release. Moreover, Nintendo won’t be releasing more information regarding the service at E3 2017. However, they will share more about it later this year.
Our new dedicated smart device app will connect to Nintendo Switch and let you invite friends to play online, set play appointments, and chat with friends during online matches in compatible games─all from your smart device
The app in question is going to be paid as well, however, it will also have a free trial for Nintendo Switch users. Nintendo was originally going to offer classic Nintendo games each month for its subscribers but we can now confirm that the plans have changed.
Nintendo has replaced this feature with something better, as they say. There will be more on Nintendo Switch and its online service in the near future. The only issue is that they may tie a lot of the features to the paid app which may put off plenty of consumers.
