Life is Strange Prequel Leaked; Deck Nine Games at the Helm

Life is Strange Prequel is leaked and is currently in development at Deck Nine Games. The developer was previously known as Idol Minds.

A prequel to Life is Strange has leaked online way ahead of an official announcement. A handful of images also found their way online and show Chloe, Rachal, and some other characters. More interestingly, Deck Nine Games are going to be at the helm of the game’s development.

Dontnod Entertainment has already announced that Life is Strange 2 is in development, continuing the story of Max Caulfield after the episodic adventure game Life is Strange finished up back in 2015. The game won’t be at E3 this year, but Dontnod is currently working hard on making the game as we speak.

However, the prequel will follow the story of Chloe before the events of Life is Strange. Here is your first look at the new game from Deck Nine Games.

Deck Nine Games was previously known as Idol Minds. The studio went under rebranding recently to focus on narrative driven games. The developers also mentioned that they are working on an addition to a critically acclaimed franchise.

Deck Nine Games aka Idol Minds is the creator of PlayStation 3 games Pain and Ratchet: Deadlocked HD. Jeff Litchford, vice president at Deck Nine said:

With the creation of our new, proprietary toolset StoryForge and the shift in studio focus, we are removing the shackles from our creative team and bringing together our two passions; meaningful storytelling and rich gameplay.

We’ve invested heavily in our staff of incredibly talented developers and in creating some truly remarkable tools. Our game will be announced at E3 this year where you’ll be able to see our efforts for yourself.

Life is Strange 2 and a Life is Strange Prequel would surely not be released alongside each other so this is a major leak for Square Enix.
