AMD Ryzen has been out for more than 3 months now and now we are getting more information regarding the future of the product line. We have seen AMD Ryzen 7 and AMD Ryzen 5, we also know that later this year we will be seeing AMD Ryzen 3. Now we have new information regarding AMD Ryzen Mobile.
At Computex 2017, we also got to see the Asus Republic of Gamers laptop that features AMD Ryzen Mobile. At the event it was announced that the laptop houses 8 cores, this is beefy CPU in a laptop. This is an exclusive deal between AMD and Asus and there is little that we know about this partnership at the moment.
From what we figured, it is safe to say that this will be a time sensitive exclusive deal and that we will see other notebook manufacturers make use of AMD Ryzen Mobile. The laptop we saw at the event also featured AMD RX 580 graphics and is VR-ready. This is not something surprising as Nvidia has also introduced something similar.
It is important to note here that AMD will be powering these laptops with not only their own CPUs but their own GPUs as well. AMD will be competing with Nvidia in the mobile market as well as the PC market. On the other hand, AMD will also be taking on Intel in the workstation market as well as the general consumer market. Having that said AMD has its hands full right now.
No matter what the case may be, things are sure to get very interesting between Intel and AMD as well as between AMD and Nvidia in the upcoming few weeks. We will be waiting to check out AMD Ryzen Mobile powered laptops and we will compare then to the competition. Stay tuned for that.
