A recent post on Reddit apparently shows the new Assassin’s Creed: Origins character picture that has helped us partially identify what might be the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed: Origins. The shirt in question was apparently available at a GameStop, which also sells video gaming memorabilia in addition to various video games.
The new Assassin’s Creed: Origins character picture only shows what appears to be a back view of the character, but we can see some of the equipment he’ll be using. In this case, it’s a bow and a shield, along with the character’s apparent name: Ba Yek.
While we know almost nothing about Assassin’s Creed: Origins, there have been various “leaks” and hints about what it will focus on. Apparently taking place thousands of years ago in Ancient Egypt, the central protagonist may be a former Egyptian slave that breaks free and joins the Assassins. However, Ubisoft has not given us any concrete information.
While E3 is only a few weeks away, and Ubisoft has its own conference, we don’t really know what Ubisoft will say about Assassin’s Creed. While there wouldn’t be any real reason for the new Assassin’s Creed: Origins character picture to be fake, details about the character may not be entirely accurate.
Hopefully when E3 does roll around, the Ubisoft conference will announce Assassin’s Creed: Origins (or whatever it’s going to be called) and give us some more information about its characters, setting, and gameplay.
While Assassin’s Creed has been to the Middle East before in its first game, we only got to see various cities that were in the Crusades, such as Damascus, Jerusalem, and Acre. We’ve never been to Egypt before, or to a time period this far back. Hopefully, Ubisoft deciding to imitate Call of Duty and go back to the past rather than farther into the future will have just as much of a positive reaction.
