A German retailer has listed what’s going to be in the 200 Euro (or your regional equivalent) God of War Collector’s Edition, which will hopefully be coming out sometime this year or early next year. The game is the sequel to Sony Santa Monica’s God of War series.
The listing was spotted by a Reddit user by the name of Lannister1909, who found the listing on Amazon. Along with the collector’s edition was a release date, though it was likely a placeholder as it was January 18, 2018. That’s a Monday, and considering that most games don’t release on a Monday (either going until sometime in the middle of the week or on a Friday) it’s likely a placeholder.
The God of War Collector’s Edition includes a nine inch statue of Kratos and his son Atreus, the young boy who was in the game’s debut E3 footage back in 2016. It also includes a steelbook case, three in-game shields as a weapon pack, and more.
There’s also two carved toy figurines, a lithograph print, a cloth game world map, a digital soundtrack, and an exclusive dynamic theme for your Playstation 4. With all of this stuff, some of the more intense God of War fans may think this collector’s edition is a worthy buy, even for 200 euros.
It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a God of War game, especially a main-line one. The last God of War game in the main series, God of War 3, came out in 2010. Back in 2015, a remastered version of that same game was released to the Playstation 4.
If you want to try and pre-order the God of War Collector’s Edition, you might want to wait until it actually becomes available in your region to try it, and also that you have enough money to get it to begin with. While there’s still no release date for the game, hopefully Sony Santa Monica will give us one at E3 2017 in a few weeks.
