Ewan McGregor May Voice Obi-Wan Kenobi In Star Wars Battlefront 2

DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront 2 may have Ewan McGregor in it as a guest star when it releases later this year, according to a rumor sparked by YouTuber Star Wars HQ. Star Wars HQ has said that since Obi-Wan Kenobi is such a big part of Star Wars, he may be in the game.

Obi-Wan has been played by a number of different actors in both live action and animation, but it seems like in Battlefront 2 he might actually make an appearance. Since Battlefront 2 will be taking place across all three eras of Star Wars, Obi Wan making an appearance in the prequel-era might not be too far-fetched.

As for Ewan McGregor voicing him, Star Wars HQ has said that since James Arnold Taylor (who voiced Obi Wan in the Clone Wars cartoon) hasn’t been asked to voice Obi Wan. While this may mean that Obi Wan isn’t in the game at all, it’s not a confirmation.

Various other heroes that have been confirmed to be in Battlefront 2 include Rey and Kylo Ren, Yoda and Darth Maul, and likely the Emperor and Darth Vader and Boba Fett as well. Obi Wan hasn’t necessarily been confirmed, but considering how important he is to the franchise at large, it would be something of a disservice if he wasn’t.

Considering that Ewan McGregor is also the most recognizable Obi-Wan for many audiences these days, people would likely take notice if he wasn’t included in the game.

However, this all depends on what DICE and EA think is best for the game. Obi Wan might be included in the base game, or he might be a DLC hero. There’s also the possibility that he won’t be included at all. Since Battlefront 2 is supposed to come out in late November, there’s still a lot of time for DICE to reveal things to us.
