According to Xbox president Phil Spencer, the Xbox One Scorpio versions of Destiny 2 and Call of Duty will be the best ones after the premium Xbox One console comes out. Microsoft has promised for a long time now that the Scorpio would be the most powerful console to date.
Whether that actually holds up, however, depends on how the console does when it’s finally released. The Playstation 4 Pro, which released last November, has had some difficulties with games from time to time, and considering how much Microsoft has talked up the Scorpio, the company would have a large PR disaster on their hands if it didn’t live up to the hype.
Destiny 2 and Call of Duty: World War 2 are both games that are hotly anticipated by the end of this year, being developed by two beloved and well-respected studios. If the Xbox One Scorpio versions are supposed to be the best out of all of the other versions of the games we’ll be getting, they’d better look good.
Those two games, however, might also be tied to when the Scorpio will be releasing. We haven’t gotten an official date for when the console will be launched, but we’ll likely get details about that at the Microsoft E3 conference. If it releases sometime before both Destiny 2 and Call of Duty World War 2 come out, both of those games will likely also launch on the Scorpio.
However, that depends on whether or not the Xbox One Scorpio versions of those games are actually available to play. Both games will be launching on multiple platforms, and readying those to get on each version of each platform can be a pain for any developer.
We’ll just have to see if Phil Spencer’s words ring true about the Destiny 2 and Call of Duty games on the Xbox One Scorpio will actually be accurate.
