What might be new official artwork for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a crossover game for the Nintendo Switch, might have just been posted on Twitter. The game, which has been a rumor for several months now, may have been fully confirmed with the release of the art.
Whether that’s a good or bad thing, however, depends on your view of the Raving Rabbids series. Originally a spin-off of the Rayman games, the Raving Rabbids quickly developed their own large gaming presence in a way similar to the Minions from Despicable Me.
The Rabbids have ended up becoming a rather controversial figure in gaming, and if you don’t like them, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle may be something you should pass on.
The artwork, posted by Nintendo insider Lauren Kate Dale on her Twitter, shows a mixture of Mario characters and Rabbids dressed as them messing around in a Mario world. Several characters, like Mario and Yoshi, also appear to be using an arm cannon that looks a lot like the Mega Buster, Mega Man’s primary weapon.
Whether it’s legitimate or not still remains to be seen, but the most likely time that we’ll see an actual game would probably be at Nintendo’s E3 conference, coming in a few weeks in mid-June. However, Nintendo might reveal the game sometime a head of that (if it does exist).
If anything, a game like Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle coming to the Nintendo Switch and other games like it would at least give it another party game, maybe even one that has the potential to be better than 1 2 Switch.
However, it all depends on if Nintendo actually announces it sometime in the future. The game is supposed to be released sometime later this year, according to leaks, but Nintendo still hasn’t said anything official about the game.
