WB’s Middle Earth Shadow of War is coming out later this year for consoles and PC. Rumors suggested that a Nintendo Switch version could be in the works but those have been shot down by the makers of Shadow of War. According to Monolith creative VP Michael de Plater, there are no plans to bring Shadow of War to Nintendo Switch.
Initially revealed earlier this year, the sequel to critically acclaimed Shadow of Mordor, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will mark the return of Talion and Celebrimbor.
In the upcoming title, players will wield a new Ring of Power to confront the deadliest of enemies, including Sauron and his Nazgul in a battle of Middle-Earth. The robust Nemesis System will return in the sequel and will not only affect enemies but also the environments.
With all the new features and improvements, this game won’t be easy to run on Nintendo Switch. However, the VP marketing is not ruling out a Switch version but stated that they have “no plans” for the time being. Middle Earth Shadow of War is releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on August 22.
According to the Vice President of Creative at Monolith Productions, Michael de Plater, prior knowledge of Middle Earth, Shadow of Mordor, and Lords of the Rings is not required to play this game. The most notable feature of Shadow of War comes in the form of a revamped Nemesis system that has already been discussed in detail.
