Out of 70M PSN users, There are Less Than 50% Who Have PlayStation Plus
Sony created the PlayStation Network back when it released PlayStation 3. Over the years PlayStation Network has grown and evolved into how we know it today. It offers many features including the popular PlayStation Plus membership.
Players who choose to pay $50 annually for PlayStation Plus can enjoy free games every month as well as discount offers on various titles. Moreover, on PlayStation 4 it allows players to play online with friends and family or with random gamers they meet online.
According to the latest stats, there are now 70 million monthly users of the PlayStation Network which is a massive achievement for the company. What’s interesting is that while the number of active users is 70 million, there are only 26.4 million which less than half of what the active user base is. Still, it is up from 20.8 million of last year.
PlayStation Plus numbers are expected to rise with the release of Destiny 2 and other multiplayer games. Moreover, Sony is pushing the free games library, announcing six new games for May.
The games include titles like Telltale’s Tales from the Borderlands and Thatgamecompany’s relaxing exploration game Abzu, both for the Playstation 4.
Other games include Port Royale 3: Pirates and Merchants, and Blood Knights for the Playstation 3. For the Playstation Vita the games are Laser Disco Defenders, and Type: Rider. However, Abzu is only available for Playstation Plus owners in North America. If you own a Playstation in Europe, instead you’ll get Alienation.
