Rockstar Games once again proved why it is at the top of the food chain and why we love the company so much. The creator of Grand Theft Auto was recently asked to distance itself from Grand Theft Auto IV by a fan. One has to wonder why exactly would someone ask them to do this and what’s so wrong with GTAIV?
Well, a gamer named Sara took to the official forums and asked the company to “move on” and leave GTA IV behind. She believes that because the game features a Russian Soldier (which it does not), Rockstar should distance itself from the game. Rockstar’s response to the woman is both educational and highly entertaining.
In the words of the great Adrian Monk, “Here’s what happened.”
The reply not only puts this person in her place but also resulted in a week long ban. Grand Theft Auto series have been at the center of controversy on a number of occasions over the years. It has been accused of racism, sexism, promoting violence, and more.
Rockstar Games is currently working on Red Dead Redemption 2 and that is also expected to stir up controversy in one way or another. Red Dead Redemption 2 is releasing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year.
What do you think of Rockstar’s reply to this person? Should Rockstar distance itself from GTA IV for such a ridiculous reason? Share what your views in the comments below.
