Bandai Namco has released the third episode in its ongoing series of character trailers, teasing more of the story mode and rivalries in Tekken 7.
Get to know some of the interactions between Josie and Kuma, Paul and Panda, Claudio and Xiaoyu, and Shaheen and Kazuya; as well as a small taste of their individual fighting styles. The trailer also showcases their devastating combo strings, and how they can surprise opponents by unleash powerful attack moves.
Compared to its predecessors, Tekken 7 will be slightly more accessible. According to series director Katsuhiro Harada, over ninety percent of the fan-base comprises casual players. Unlike other fighting games, Tekken is incredibly difficult to get into. Hence, the development team made it a priority to make the new installment slightly easier for newcomers.
Last month, the developer confirmed that Tekken 7 has officially gone gold. There will be no more delays and the game is being prepared to ship out worldwide. Bandai Namco will be using the time from now until the release to do further testing and squash bugs. There is likely to be stability improvements as well. The changes will be bundled for the game’s first major update.
Tekken 7 is confirmed for an official release on June 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, a few months later than the originally planned window of early 2017. Placing a pre-order on any of three platforms will get you Elize, the 1000-year old vampire who made her debut in Tekken Revolution.
