Blizzard has a few events planned for the near future to keep things “spicy” and it begins by offering a free Hearthstone card tomorrow for everyone.
“Fight Promoter” is a six-mana epic card that draws two cards if the player controls a minion on the board with six or more health. The four-four attack-defense may not seem that attractive but it being given away for free is all that matters.
The official announcement does not clarify as to whether players will have to redeem the free Hearthstone card through the website or not. It looks more like that players simply have to log into their clients tomorrow, on May 20, to receive the freebie.
Posting on Reddit, game director Ben Brode shared that the development loves to surprise its community and is working on even more events for the future. Giving out a free Hearthstone card is only a small way to make everyone happy.
“We have some stuff planned that I think will be pretty hot,” he teased. “Keeping Hearthstone spicy is important… and giving out a free card seemed like something easy we could do as a fun one-off. We have some bigger (and smaller) events planned… we’re just getting warmed up!”
Unfortunately, Fight Promoter appears to be in normal form. When Blizzard celebrated the start of the Year of the Mammoth by conducting a week-long daily login rewards program, the community managed to snag a golden version of Volcanosaur. It would have been even more exciting if tomorrow’s free Hearthstone card was in golden form as well.
Earlier this month, Blizzard confirmed that Hearthstone has crossed seventy million players worldwide. To celebrate the milestone, the developer gifted three Journey to Un’Goro card packs to every single member of the community.
