Dontnod Entertainment has announced that Life is Strange 2 is in development, continuing the story of Max Caulfield after the episodic adventure game Life is Strange finished up back in 2015. The game won’t be at E3 this year, but Dontnod is currently working hard on making the game as we speak.
The first Life is Strange game focused on a girl named Max Caulfield, a college student who had recently moved back to her hometown of Arcadia Bay to attend school at the prestigious Blackwell Academy arts school.
While there, she becomes caught up in a variety of situations, ranging from helping a bullied friend, to uncovering a murder mystery, reconnecting with her friend Chloe, and attempting to stop a massive tornado from destroying the town. Players also have the ability to somehow rewind time, allowing them to undo previous actions a few seconds before.
The game got fairly favorable reviews, and has sold over three million copies since its release. Reviewers particularly praised its character development, story, and time-travel mechanic, so it’s likely that these will make a comeback in Life is Strange 2.
However, we have no idea of what the story for that game will be; Dontnod has been rather mum on the details, but hopefully, the story will be just as interesting and full of twists and turns as the first game was. Hopefully, we’ll even get a reason for Max’s time travel, and why exactly she’s able to do that.
While Life is Strange 2 isn’t going to be at E3 2017, hopefully, some point in the near future the game will get some more details from us. In the meantime, we’ll just have to keep on the lookout for information. The game will hopefully be coming out on all of the platforms the original did, including Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC, Mac, and Linux.
