Ubisoft: The Division Ranks 3rd In Recurring Spending, Has 44 Million Unique Players

Ubisoft launched The Division one year ago and the game has proven to be quite successful for the developer. However, the game has suffered a lot of criticism from its players and despite that The Division’s player base is going strong, as Ubisoft has revealed the game has 44 million unique players.

During the Ubisoft’s earnings call, CEO Yves Guillemot revealed some interesting information. According to Yves, The Division has 44 million unique players with 150 percent growth in less than 18 months. He added that the success of games like The Division has led the company to dedicate more resources to expansions and DLCs.

According to Yves, in terms of recurring spending, The Division stands at the third position for Ubisoft behind Rainbow Six Siege and The Crew. However, no specific numbers were revealed for the recurring spending by Ubisoft. Also, it is important to note that the number of unique players does not represent the active players for the game.

Aside from revealing the player count for the game, Ubisoft has also confirmed the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title, Far Cry 5, and The Crew 2. However, that is not all, during the presentation Ubisoft revealed that the last fiscal year has been quite successful for the company and also revealed its plans for the future.

During the earnings call, Ubisoft revealed that it will launch 4 AAA titles in its fiscal year 2018-2019. According to the company, the fiscal year 2018-2019 will see “the release of four AAA titles with three established franchises and a new brand”.

However, Ubisoft did not provide any solid details about the new IP except that it will be a multiplayer-focused game. This is line with the company’s recent releases which are always online including The Division and For Honor.

The Division is a third-person action shooter developed by Ubisoft for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
