Ace Combat 7 has been in development for quite some time and since the reveal of the game not much has been revealed about it. Now, the development team behind Ace Combat 7 has revealed that the game has been delayed to ensure the best Ace Combat Combat experience to date.
In an open letter to the franchise’s fans, producer Kazutoki Kono explained why Ace Combat 7 has been delayed. According to Kazutoki, the current generation of consoles have opened up new possibilities for the game and to ensure that the final release features the best Ace Combat experience, the dev team decided to delay the game to 2018.
We would have loved to launch ACE COMBAT 7 at the end of 2017 as we originally intended, but doing so would compromise our goal for the game. We take our art very seriously and that means we have instead chosen to devote additional time and effort to perfect and optimize this newest chapter of the ACE COMBAT saga.
The combination of the Unreal 4 Engine and the power of current generation consoles and PC hardware have literally opened the “skies of opportunity” to us to develop the best ACE COMBAT experience to-date.
He also revealed that the dev team will have “a lot more information and details to share with you in the coming months, starting at E3 2017 where we plan to reveal a brand-new demo showcasing one of the non-VR missions in ACE COMBAT 7 for the first time ever!”
Ace Combat 7 will take place 10 years after the events of Ace Combat 5. Also, the game will be much closer to Ace Combat 5 is terms of visuals and will feel like Ace Combat 4.
Ace Combat 7 is an action combat flight game in development at Project Aces and will launch sometime in 2018. Also, the game was initially planned as PlayStation 4 exclusive but recently the devs revealed that Ace Combat 7 will also launch for Xbox One and PC.
