Injustice 2 Dr. Fate Guide

Playing as Dr. Fate

Fate’s f + 2, U + 3 is a decent launcher that you can use in order to start your combos. His 1, 1, 2 is an overhead that you can chain with specials. On the other hand, his 1, 1, 3 is good for sending your opponents backwards. An important thing to note here is that you can dash-cancel the 3 in this string or simply hold it by continuing to press the button. His b + 1, d + 3, 2 can knockback opponents and you can use it in the corners to extend your combos. On the other hand, b +1, d + 3, u + 3 is a decent ender that you can use to stay near your opponents.

2, 1, 1, 3 is another good combo ender that lets you end at a good range. As for the 2, 1, 1, it is a hard knockdown and you can cancel it in order to go with set-ups. Both the b + 2 and d + 2 are anti-air attacks that you need to use at different ranges. Coming to Special Moves, the d, f + 1 sends a projectile that you can avoid by crouching if you are near Dr. Fate. Do note that the MB version sends three projectiles. Then there is d, b + 1 that sends an orb towards enemies at a slower pace. The MB version lets you hold the orb in place, allowing you to create set-ups. The d, b + 2 fires the glyph that knocks back enemies and has less Recovery Frames. You can either end combos with this or use the MB version since it is safe on-block.

Dr. Fate’s d, f + 2 is Breath of Life that you can place either in front or back in order to heal yourself as long as you are in its proximity. The d, b + 3 lets you summon three glyphs that you can send to your opponents with d, f + 3. If you manage to land them, you will deal unblockable damage and triggering an explosion if you manage to land all three at the same time. In the game, d, d + 3 is an incredible attack that prevents your enemies from using the environmental attacks.

Coming to Fate’s Character Power, it changes the properties of his special attacks and lets you chain a combo with his throw. For instance, with his CP active, the Orb knocks up enemies for further attacks. Overall, Dr. Fate’s strength lies in keeping your distance and using it to your advantage. While you are not useless at close range, learning how to mind the gap and using your projectiles is the way to go! Moreover, try to learn how things change during the Character Power to increase your advantages.
