Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is releasing on 3DS in just a few days. The title is a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden that never made it outside of Japan, until now. The game is developed by Intelligent Systems and is a tactical role-playing title.
Before the title is out, there are some things a novice should definitely know about the game. For instance, storytelling is not something that the newer generation will be familiar with. There is no CGI or prolonged cut-scenes to deliver the narrative.
Instead, developers are using text to deliver the narrative of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. There is a heavy focus on text-based storytelling that will appeal to seasoned gamers. The method was used in the original game so it makes sense that the remake is getting the same treatment from the developers.
Moreover, players will take control of multiple protagonists, two to be exact. The story is told through multiple perspectives and expands across several locations. There are also several class changes and changes made to the health regeneration system.
But the best feature about the new game is dungeon crawling segments. Developers have added these to boost player engagement add to the value of the game. Players will explore caves, ruins, and dungeons for loot, face enemies, and more.
