An Xbox One backwards compatibility sale will be starting just in time for summer, and will be bringing a number of discounts on every game on the console’s backwards compatibility list. This means over 275 games are up for grabs at reduced prices than their already far reduced price tags.
This means that when the sale starts on May 16, you can buy games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto 4, Skate 3, Bayonetta, and many many more for deals that are up to 75% off. Normally, games on the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility service are already at prices around 15 dollars, so 75 percent off will make them even cheaper.
The Xbox One backwards compatibility sale will give Xbox gamers the opportunity to buy a lot of their favorite games that normally aren’t available to play on the Xbox One. The backwards compatibility program was launched in 2014 and was shown to be an immediate success, with almost 300 games currently available to play.
These games include classics like Call of Duty and Grand Theft Auto, as mentioned above, but also a number of more niche titles such as a number of games that were previously on the Xbox Live Arcade back on the Xbox 360.
While a number of these games have either been remastered or ported to other consoles such as the PC (such as Bayonetta, which in addition to being on the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility list, was also recently released to PC with a graphical upgrade), there are still a lot to choose from if you want to see if nostalgia holds up.
The Xbox One backwards compatibility sale is going to be starting on May 16, next Tuesday, so if you’re in the market for some cheap games that you wish you could play again on your Xbox One, just be on the lookout in the Store around that time.
