Vanquish PC Port Is Happening, Will Be Releasing May 25 2017

A Vanquish PC port is happening, and it will be releasing on May 25 after a hint several weeks ago in the PC port of Bayonetta.

As if Platinum hadn’t already made PC players excited, Sega has launched a trailer for the Vanquish PC port, a remastered and revamped version of Platinum Games’s 2010 action shooter game. The reveal comes after a hint was dropped in the PC remastered version of Bayonetta, which came out several weeks ago.

Previously, a PC port of Vanquish had been hinted at on the PC version of Bayonetta in the form of a small icon that showed the protagonist’s helmet, which many people (rightly, as in turns out) took as a hint that there would be a Vanquish PC port in the future.

Vanquish is an action shooter developed by Platinum Games that focuses on a man named Sam Gideon, who takes part in a US military mission to storm the space station Providence. Providence, originally a solar energy-collecting satellite, has been transformed into a weapon by Russian terrorists, forcing Sam to suit up in the Augmented Reaction Suit power armor to save America and take back the station.

The game sold nearly a million copies within a year, and with how much Platinum has exploded in recent years (especially since it recently released Nier Automata, a critically acclaimed title that sold a million copies in a month) the re-release might sell even more.

The Vanquish PC port will also have a higher resolution and will not have a locked framerate, allowing you to play it at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second, not to mention how the game is now available to play on top-of-the-line PCs. So now you can slide and shoot, dodge missiles in mid-air, and kill robots and Russians to your heart’s content in glorious 1080p resolution.

So, if you were a fan of Vanquish and have a PC that will be able to run it, you only have to wait a few weeks before you can play it on Steam.
