The development team is strongly considering to add another League of Legends dragon to the elemental rotation, one that is unique from the rest.
Posting on the official forums, lead gameplay designer Andrei “Meddler” van Roon stated that the goal is to give players something new to play around with. The game already features four different elemental dragons, making it important that the fifth inclusion offers a unique reward and does not favor a particular team composition.
Riot Games intends to introduce the new League of Legends dragon sometime next year. While it is “kicking around” a few ideas internally, the development team is fairly interested in hearing from the community as well. Those with “strong suggestions” on what the new elemental dragon should be like better communicate with Riot Games.
The upcoming League of Legends mid-season update will reforge the Rift Herald into a “structure-smashing siege engine.” It now drops the Herald’s Eye upon death, lasting in the player’s inventory for a few minutes and granting Empowered Recall. However, using the relic before it expires summons the Rift Herald back in the game to fight for the player’s team by rushing down the nearest lane.
The ability to control the Rift Herald is a new mechanic in League of Legends, a forceful measure since Riot Games was at one point considering to remove the minion from the game. How big of an impact would there be if we were also able to control a dragon, much like how Mordekaiser can with Children of the Grave (R)?
