Bioware New IP Delayed Till Fiscal Year 2019 To “Further Develop The Live Service Component”

Bioware has already confirmed that it is working on a new IP and with Mass Effect Andromeda launched the studio has its full focus on its new IP. Recently, EA revealed that new IP will launch by the end of the current fiscal year which ends on March 31, however, it has been delayed.

During the EA’s recent earnings call, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson revealed that the new IP from Bioware is now scheduled to launch in the company’s fiscal year 2019, meaning the game will launch somewhere between April 2018 and March 2019. He added that the game is being delayed in part “to further develop the live service component”.

We’re very pleased with the progress of our new action IP from BioWare. The design is stunning. Gameplay mechanics are excellent, and the action will be exhilarating. The game is built around a live service, and through our creative process, we decided to add more to the disruptive new social design for our players.

Also, a rumor has been making rounds on the internet regarding the new IP from Bioware. According to the rumor, Bioware’s new IP will be revealed at E3 2017. According to the industry insider, Liam ‘Unseen64’ Robertson, that the new IP is codenamed, Dylan. He added that the name is related to the game’s protagonist and this new IP from Bioware will be revealed during E3 2017.

Dylan is, from what I understand, a sci-fi themed game, it is sort of Destiny-style, takes some elements from The Division, it has like MMO elements. Someone described it as a ‘semi-MMO.

I don’t know much more than that… it is a huge scale project, perhaps the biggest BioWare has ever done. It’s bigger than Mass Effect Andromeda, considerably so. It will have co-op.

With Mass Effect Andromeda launched we are hopeful that Bioware will soon reveal the game. What are your expectations from this new IP? Let us know in the comments.
