Injustice 2 is just a week away from launch and gamers are excited to get their hands on the game to play as their favorite DC characters. Just recently the studio revealed DLC characters for the game and now Warner Bros has announced Injustice 2 Championship Series.
Warner Bros will be hosting the Injustice 2 Championship Series in partnership with PlayStation, ESL, GameStop, Twitch and several others. Warner Bros has confirmed a prize pool of $600,000 for “several eSports programs in territories across the globe” and the top players will compete with one another this Autumn.
Like the first Injustice: Gods Among us, Injustice 2 will also feature a single-player campaign. However, the studio will improve upon everything in the sequel including the single-player campaign. According to Brian Goodman, Injustice 2’s single-player campaign will be quite different in terms of structure.
Stucture-wise, it’s going to be a little bit different. There’s going to be definitely an opportunity to go through the story mode, and we’re definitely going to leave them wanting to go through it perhaps a second time.
The studio has confirmed that Injustice 2 will feature microtransactions, however, the studio has made it clear that the game will not be pay to win.
Source Crystals are a new type of currency available in Injustice 2 that are used to purchase cosmetic features for characters. Source Crystals can be purchased using real money but aren’t required to progress or advance in the game and can’t be used to purchase Gear or an advantage in gameplay. We value our community and want to be clear – you cannot ‘pay to win’ with Injustice 2.
Injustice 2 is an upcoming fighting game based on DC Comics and is in development at Netherrealm Studios and is scheduled to launch on May 16, 2017, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
