The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombie Chronicles DLC will apparently cost 30 dollars when it releases on May 16, one of the most expensive pieces of Call of Duty DLC out there. The DLC will contain eight of the most popular maps from the Call of Duty Zombies game mode.
The DLC will contain the zombie maps Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, and Shi No Numa from Call of Duty: World at War, Kino der Untoten, Ascension, Shangri-La, and Moon from Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Origins from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Many of these are seen as the most popular maps from the whole side-story, which began as a secret level at the end of World at War.
Also included in the Black Ops 3 Zombie Chronicles DLC are a number of other items that can help you survive the undead hordes. These include 20 bottles of Liquid Divinium (which help power up Gobblegums that you can use in-game), 2 new types of Gobblegums, an exclusive Zombies Pack-A-Punch Weapon Camo, and a dynamic system theme for your Playstation 4 if you pre-order it.
While the Black Ops 3 Zombie Chronicles DLC does come with all of this cool stuff, there’s always the possibility that a variety of things will keep it from selling well. First off: the price. 30 dollars is around twice as expensive as previous Call of Duty map packs, and even with twice the maps it seems a bit too much.
There’s also the fact that the DLC for other Call of Duty games can be played through the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility system, making the entire thing pointless. But then again, the possibility of playing the maps all touched up for current generation consoles might make the 30 dollar price tag worth it for Call of Duty fans.
We’ll just have to see how it turns out when the DLC releases on May 16.
