God of War PS4 is About Making History: Sony Santa Monica

God of War PS4 was announced back at E3 2016 and is one of the most anticipated PS4 exclusives from Sony. The game is in development at Sony Santa Monica and is rumored to release sometime this year. According to the developers, they are working hard to make sure they deliver an authentic God of War experience and a narrative driven experience.

Cory Barlog, director of God of War, took to Twitter and stated that he likes to be involved with narrative driven games only with a heavy focus on the story. God of War PS4 will once again follow the story of Kratos but this time his son is also making an appearance.

Cory Barlog confirmed the game will not hold back at all when it comes to gore since the game takes place in a very violent time.

This answer goes along with the recent report of the game getting an 18+ rating from PEGI, the European game rating board. The rating is reserved for titles which feature a fair amount of mature content including violence, sex, blood, and gore.

Considering God of War PS4 takes place in the Norse mythology instead of the usual Greek one, there have been questions regarding the presence of Vikings in the game. Cory, however, has confirmed that the game’s story takes place at a time well before the Vikings.

God of War PS4 will be showed at E3 2017 where Sony is expected to discuss a final release date.
