Prey 2017 FOV Fix, How to Change Field of View Using Config File

For the time being, Prey 2017 FOV does not have a slider, however, you could change Prey's FOV by altering the config file the game.

Prey 2017 has been unlocked on Steam and those who have pre-ordered the game can play it. The good news is that overall, it’s a solid PC port apart from a couple of issues that the developer has already acknowledged. Those issues would be fixed down the road with a patch but in the meanwhile, there are some workarounds you could use to fix those issues. If Dishonored 2 left a bad impression, Prey 2017 is going to regain your trust.

One of the most common complaints the users have is that Prey 2017 FOV is not working. The slider isn’t there and what should they do if they want to change the FOV? Well, fortunately, there is a little tweak you can use to fix this issue until Arkane releases a permanent fix.

All you have to do is find your config file that can be located in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\Arkane Studios\Prey\. You need to open that file using notepad. You will some commands in it and one of those commands is controlling the FOV in the game. The command you are looking for is “cl_hfov“. You need to change its value to whatever you want. The default value, however, is 85.5656. You can change it based on your liking. Keep in mind that you might have to change it a couple of times to get the perfect FOV based on your resolution and screen.

Once you have changed the value, you should save the document and launch the game again. The changed FOV will now be in effect. It’s that simple, right? If you are having any trouble with Prey 2017 FOV change via config file, let us know in the comments below.
