Call of Duty: WWII reveal trailer is the most liked video in franchise history, claims Activision. This is in contrast to Infinite Warfare reveal video which is the most disliked gaming video on YouTube, an embarrassment to the franchise. Activision is crediting the return to boost on the ground roots for the success of Call of Duty: WWII reveal.
While talking about WWII during an investors Q&A, the firm was cautiously optimistic about the new game following the release of last year’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. 2016’s release underperformed in all key markets around the world, but still remaining at the top of the food chain, an indication of the sheer scale of COD’s audience. Activision’s COO Thomas Tippl stated that they greenlit the game over two years ago and were fully aware that they are going back to the roots.
When Activision greenlit this game more than 2.5 years ago, the team knew it was time to return the franchise to its roots, and fans are already sharing their excitement for Call of Duty: World War II.
Activision revealed the game during a live stream in London and since then the reveal trailer has become the fastest video to reach 10 million views in Call of Duty history. It took the trailer only one day to reach 10 million views, according to Activision.
Additionally, though it’s still very early, pre-orders are off to a very strong start. Call of Duty: World War II will deliver the gritty authentic cinematic experience, which Call of Duty is known for.
Call of Duty: WWII is releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in November. Pre-order the game to get guaranteed access to the “Private Beta.” It has also been confirmed already that PlayStation 4 is getting 30 days early access to all future maps for WWII.
