Fans Uncover Evidence of Upcoming Nintendo Direct Event
A number of clever NeoGAF users have uncovered evidence of an Upcoming Nintendo Direct event that might be held as soon as next week. While there’s no official confirmation, if it’s true we’ll be getting a lot of information about Nintendo’s upcoming games and various projects, including some from January.
Nintendo revealed a lot of games back then, but very few of them were going to be on the Nintendo Switch when it launched and a good number of them didn’t even have confirmed release dates. These included games like the musou game Fire Emblem Warriors, a new Shin Megami Tensei game, Super Mario Odyssey, Arms, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Splatoon 2.
While Splatoon 2 has since gotten a release date of July 21 of this year, the other games still don’t have very many details. If NeoGAF’s findings of an Upcoming Nintendo Direct are true, then we may be getting a lot of new details soon.
All the same, we shouldn’t get too excited. E3 is just around the corner with only a few weeks left, and it’s one of the biggest gaming events of the year. Not to mention that with the reveal of the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo actually has a reason to go whole hog this year. Last year they only attended the convention with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, waiting until January to finally reveal the Switch.
The previous Nintendo Direct aired last month on April 13, and while it revealed a good amount of information it wasn’t enough for a lot of people, hence the excitement over a possible Direct coming soon.
Whether there will be an Upcoming Nintendo Direct or not, the following weeks are likely going to have a lot of gaming information either leaked or teased at while E3 gets even closer. In the meantime, we’ll just have to see if Nintendo actually does have a Direct planned.
