It has been over a year since Far Cry Primal launched and since then Ubisoft has said many times that they may take a year off to reinvent the Far Cry franchise. However, it seems that Ubisoft is teasing an upcoming Far Cry game which might be a prequel to Far cry 3.
As noted by NeoGaf user, Get_craycray, Ubisoft posted an image of an island on their official Facebook page, saying the “an island we never really left”. The island in question is the island from Far Cry 3 on which the game takes place. The user speculates that Ubisoft might be releasing a new Far Cry game which will be a prequel to Far Cry 3 with Vaas as the main character or it could be a remaster of Far Cry 3.
However, the idea of a Far Cry 3 prequel with Vass as the main character seems interesting since Vaas is a fan favorite character and I for one will absolutely be excited for a game that lets me play as Vaas. But, until Ubisoft officially announces anything we can only speculate.
However, this is not the first hint of a Far Cry game launching in 2017, as earlier this year Gamestop’s PlayStation 4 Software Upcoming Releases list recently got updated and the new list listed Far Cry 5 for PS4 with a release date of 26th November 2017.
When contacted, an employee of Gamespot confirmed that they did have a listing for the game with a release date in November, although it may not necessarily be the 26th of November which happens to be a Sunday.
Far Cry is a first-person shooter franchise that primarily focuses on a single player campaign that delves deep into the topic of human psychology and behavior, while the gameplay is heavily action oriented.
