Long-Rumored Mario and Rabbids RPG Is Coming To Nintendo Switch
A Mario and Rabbids RPG that has apparently been rumored for a pretty long time is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch, combining Mario’s flagship mascot with one of Ubisoft’s most popular character groups. The game will supposedly be coming out in the fall of this year. Other Mario characters will also be featured.
The game, which will be called “Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle”, will apparently be combining turn-based combat, the goofy humor of the Rabbids, and two-player local co-op play. Players will be able to take control of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, and four Rabbids that, for some reason, are also dressed up like Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach.
The Mario and Rabbids RPG was originally revealed to the internet by Laura Kate Dale, who is the same person responsible for a large number of details about the Switch. While a lot of these rumors have turned out to be false, she’s apparently nailed this one.
Nintendo hasn’t officially revealed the game yet, but we’ll probably see the game either at the Ubisoft conference or the Nintendo conference at this year’s E3, next month. While it may not be Super Mario Odyssey, the Mario game that was announced at Nintendo’s reveal event for the Switch, it will at least (hopefully) tide Mario fans over.
We also haven’t gotten a new Rayman game in several years (or, rather, a Rabbids game, considering they’re essentially their own franchise) so for those that are fans of the Rabbids may enjoy the game when it releases later this year.
The Mario and Rabbids RPG doesn’t really have any information yet, but if Laura Kate Dale is correct then we’ll probably be seeing it pretty soon, both when E3 rolls around and when it releases later this year. In the meantime, we’ll have to wait for more information.
