Now that Destiny 2’s official gameplay reveal is getting closer and closer, Bungie has started to send out a Destiny 2 package to various journalists, each of which has a lot of cool stuff in it. These include little badges, a little figurine, and a paper invitation to the gameplay reveal event.
One of the first things shown in the Destiny 2 package was a rather ominous card, with the words “Welcome to a world without Light” on it. It’s likely referring to the Cabal of the Red Legion, the Cabal force that attacks the Last City and who will, apparently, be the antagonist of the second game’s story.
From what the invitation in the package says, the Destiny 2 gameplay reveal will be on May 18, at 9:15 in Hawthorne, California. There, everyone that’s been invited to the Destiny 2 event will be able to see how the new game looks and some early gameplay mechanics.
In addition to the invitation and the ominous card, the Destiny 2 package also included a cool pin in the shape of a Ghost, your little robot buddy that was voiced first by Peter Dinklage, then by Nolan North when the game entered Year 2. On the back of that pin (which is also black, instead of the Ghost’s default white shell), is another mention of the date.
Finally, the package includes a small figure of Cayde-6, the Hunter Vanguard in the Tower and probably one of the most popular characters in the game. This is the same sort of figurine that you’ll be getting if you pre-order the game from GameStop.
Destiny 2 will be releasing on September 8 of this year for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and the PC. With everything that Bungie has been learning with the first Destiny will be put in to make the sequel even better than the first game.
