Things You Should Know About Before You Buy Bethesda’s Prey

Did you know? Bethesda’s Pre is releasing next month for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is hard to remember because there really hasn’t been any discussion around the title nor is there any significant marketing for Prey. Since Bethesda won’t tell you much about Prey nor will Arkane Studio, we have to take responsibility ourselves. So here is everything you need to know before buying Bethesda’s Prey.

Back in 2011 we were eager to play Prey 2 but the title was canceled after quality concerns took over the developers. But back in 2016, Bethesda announced a reboot for Prey which is releasing on consoles and PC next month.

Release Date

The very first thing you need to know about Prey is that the game is releasing on May 5. The title will launch across consoles and PC.

Prey’s Story

Well, the story is more interesting than 2011’s Bounty Hunter theme. However, the premise has nothing to do with 2011’s Prey 2. Developers have made it clear that this game is a reboot and not a sequel. The plot will have a number of psychological twists and turns.

So what do we know of the gameplay? Well, there are mysterious aliens roaming the Talos 1. Known as Typhon, they are hunting down the last remaining humans. How you deal with these aliens is up to Morgan Yu. You can use stealth or use the handful of tools available to you to deal with the enemies. It has a Dishonored type feel to it.

Lead Character is No Hero

The Talos 1 ship is not a military shit so weapons will be hard to find. Moreover, Morgan Yu is not a trained military personal.  Players would need to look for supplies and weapons to deal with whatever that comes at them. It seems Bethesda is going down the Alien Isolation feel when it comes to the story.

Shapeshifting Enemies

The scariest part of the alien race you will be facing is that it can shapeshift. It can turn into a coffee mug or a chair or turn into an allied human you may know. They will play mind games and set-up traps for the players. Surviving is should be your main concern in Bethesda’s Prey.
