After multiple speculations and teases regarding the upcoming Nier Automata DLC, Square Enix has finally revealed what the update to Platinum’s JRPG will bring to the table.
Earlier today during a livestream, game director Yoko Taro announced the first batch of Nier Automata DLC which will be available on both PS4 and PC version of the game.
The DLC includes three new costumes with one of them, the Kaine costume, focusing on 2B’s sexy side since nude mods for the game weren’t enough. These costumes will be released on 2nd May and the full set will cost 1,500 Yen on the Japanese store.
The big chunk of the Nier Automata DLC will be comprised of the “apologetic machines” DLC that was teased earlier by game producer Yosuke Saito.
Since the critically acclaimed and highly successful launch of Nier Automata, fans have been digging around in the game for hints towards DLC content and in those attempts; they managed to discover a locked area in the flooded city.
This locked area will now lead players to a battle arena where they will have to fight various types of enemies. Clearing the arena will reward players with unlockables such as hair colors and costumes.
Since these aren’t the only “apologetic machines” in the games, the developers have confirmed that more DLC are being planned behind other machines.
The livestream can be seen here on the official Square Enix channel, although it is in Japanese.
For those who can’t seem to get enough of the amazing world of Nier Automata, there is another livestream planned for 3rd May. The stream will once again feature the eccentric game director, Yoko Taro.
Platinum Games’ recent shifted focus towards PC gaming market is truly a welcome sight. The recently released Bayonetta remaster on PC shows exactly why the company is a great fit for PC gamers, not only in terms of delivering story content but also great ports.
