Next Resident Evil Will Be Different From RE7 “In Some Ways”, Says Producer

Capcom has already stated that they are already considering Resident Evil 8 and now the devs have shared some new details about the next Resident Evil.

In the latest episode of Making Of video for Resident Evil 7, Executive Producer Jun Takeuchi talked about the development of the game and the next Resident Evil game.

In the next few years, technology will continue to advance and what players want may also change, but we will always want to create horror experiences where the characters overcome a difficult situation. That, to me, is what survival horror is all about, and the next Resident Evil game and the one after that, every future Resident Evil, will feature characters getting through crises like this.

He added that Resident Evil 7 is just a beginning and the next Resident Evil games will be different from it in many ways.

And so the current masterpiece is just the beginning. Plans for the next title are already in motion and, when you see that game, you may find that it is very different from Resident Evil 7 in some ways, while still retaining that core survival horror concept of people overcoming the odds. Resident Evil will always retain that essence.

Recently, game producer Jun Takeuchi talked about reviving the Resident Evil franchise. According to Takeuchi, in order to create a survival horror he needed someone that understood the genre, so Koshi Nakanishi was the first team member he assigned as the Director of the project.

Resident Evil 7 is a first-person horror survival game developed by Capcom for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4.
