For this week, Blizzard is removing all minion cards from its new Hearthstone Brawl and restricting players to just spells.
“Valeera has stolen spells from every class and filled your deck with them! Each of those spells will summon a random minion of the same cost when played,” reads the announcement.
This is the second time that the Hearthstone Brawl has arrived, following its debut last November. Players are not required to build their own decks and can jump straight into the action. The automated decks contain only spells, randomly chosen from all classes in the game.
The only way to have minions on the board is to play a spell card or activate spell effects, resulting in the summoning of random minions based on the same mana cost. However, do note that this week’s Hearthstone Brawl will not activate any Battlecry because of the fact that minions are only being summoned.
As always, managing to win a single game will reward the player with a class card pack.
Elsewhere, the community is still wrapping its head around Journey to Un’Goro. The new expansion pack was released just over a week ago, introducing a new gameplay mechanic called Legendary Quest. They are unique cards, one for each class, that can be matured to summon powerful game-altering cards in the end.
We recently posted an opinionated piece that ranked all the nine Legendary Quests in Hearthstone.
