Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Need to Meet the Open World Standards set by RPGs like The Witcher 3

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature a massive, rich open world, something that we have come to expect from the developers. Each Rockstar game has one thing in common, an unmatched level of detail in their open worlds.

However, something has changed ever since the release of games like The Legend of Zelda and The Witcher 3. The open world is one thing but taking it to the next level like these two games is no easy feat. How branching side activities helped define the open world The Witcher 3 is simply amazing.

Side activities have always been put on the back-burner in Rockstar games. They are fun in their own goofy way but proper side missions to go with it all will do wonders for the experience.

The Witcher 3 has set a new standard for open world games as it smartly constructed the side activities around the main story to add richness and flavour to the open world.

A Red Dead Redemption game with Witcher 3 like sidequest/mission model will be one for the ages. Red Dead Redemption 2’s open world will have to compete with some amazing open world world games. However, Rockstar’s expertise is not something anyone should doubt.

But we can surely suggest and advise.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and its setting is perfect for a rich and vibrant open world and that is something we are really looking forward to seeing. The main story will without a doubt blow us away but what I want to see are proper side activities, besides drinking beer and banging hookers.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is releasing in Fall 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC version is rumored but not yet confirmed by the developers.
