An image showing off a Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle has been leaked on the Nintendo Russian store, showing another way for the Switch to get more sales. Previously, there were no official Nintendo Switch bundles available for sale, even with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle is now going to change all of that. Back in the days of the Wii U, where Mario Kart 8 first came out, the game actually caused an upsurge in Wii U sales.
Hopefully, with another big game that can get a lot of use now available, the Switch can get more sales over the summer as well.
So far the Switch has had a good launch, barring a number of technical problems for its first production run. Its chief problem, game-wise, is a lack of any real games to play.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is its only real single-player game, though Reggie Fils-Amie has said that many games are going to be coming.
Mario Kart, while not a physical party game like 1-2-Switch, does offer online play with friends, which can provide hours of racing entertainment (and rage, if you get hit with a Blue Shell).
And the fact that it’s in a bundle with a Nintendo Switch can cheapen the initial cost of buying both a Switch and a game for it.
Currently, pricing details for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle are unknown, but hopefully it will be priced similarly to the current Nintendo NX, which costs around 300 dollars.
However, when it releases, it will include the base game, all of the free content updates it got on the Wii U, all of its DLC, and a new Battle Mode that its owners can use to play something besides racing.
