Speaking with Gamasutra, Xbox head, Phil Spencer talked about the upcoming Destiny 2. According to Spencer, Destiny 2 will be much like World Of Warcraft and will be played by gamers years after its release.
But you know, Destiny 2‘s gonna be one of these games that I expect five, six, seven years from now, people are still going to be playing that game. It’s going to be a little bit like WoW. Which you know, whatever its been, 10 years later, 15 years later, millions of people play the game.
Unlike the first game, Destiny 2 will launch fo PC alongside consoles. However, Activision is yet to reveal if the game will be available through Steam or will it release its own client. Well according to a rumor, Activision will launch the game on Steam.
Also, Nolan North has confirmed that he is returning to voice Ghost. When asked if he is involved with Destiny 2 Nolan jokingly replied “Yeah. I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that, but you know what? I just did. So, confirmed”.
Also, Bungie has confirmed that Destiny will not be overshadowed by Destiny 2 and they will keep supporting the game.
If players decide, as they move on to new worlds, to experience new adventures and be told new stories in those spaces if they decide they want to revisit the things that they did in Destiny 1, the game will still be there for them. And, for someone who might join the adventure in progress and they might want to go back to the beginning and discover how it all started? Those origin stories will be waiting for them.
Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter in development at Bungie and will launch this fall for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
