We have received official confirmation that Blizzard is currently working on at least three Legendary Hanzo skins for Overwatch.
Responding to a thread on the official forums, game director Jeff Kaplan confirmed that three “amazing” skins are in production right now for the hero. The game’s lead writer Michael Chu then followed up by taking to Twitter to assure fans that Blizzard has not forgotten about the Japanese assassin.
There is no word on when each of the upcoming Legendary Hanzo skins will be arriving in the shop. The recently announced King’s Row Uprising event for Overwatch has been teasing several new skins for a variety of heroes. Reinhardt, Mercy, Tracer, Torbjorn, and Soldier 76 are all being prepared to receive new wardrobe options from the days of Overwatch. Then there is McCree and Genji, who will be getting their outfits from when they were part of Blackwatch.
Going with Blizzard’s statement that the three Legendary Hanzo skins are in production, it likely means that they will not be part of the upcoming update. The King’s Row Uprising event is scheduled to take place this week. If that were the case, the developer would have teased about the skins coming soon.
Rest assure, Overwatch will definitely receive one or at least two of the new Legendary Hanzo skins this year, with the rest pushed into the new year.
Elsewhere, Blizzard has not ruled out the possibility of porting Overwatch to the Nintendo Switch. The Japanese company’s new hybrid console adds another platform for the trending first-person shooter to reign supreme on. However, Blizzard has stated that adding the Switch to its ecosystem of updates would further increase complexities. At this point, it is not jumping the gun and will probably wait it out until it can find a solution to make Overwatch work on the Nintendo Switch.
