A recent Famitsu poll has revealed that a lot of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy fans would want to see Noctis in Kingdom Hearts, whenever the opportunity comes in. The survey was asking gamers what Final Fantasy character they would want to see in the next possible game.
Noctis, full name Noctis Lucis Caelum, is the primary protagonist of Final Fantasy 15, and won with 237 votes in his favor.
Other available characters were Lightning from Final Fantasy 13 (who had 201 votes) and Zidane from Final Fantasy 9 (who had 81 votes). There were also characters like a chocobo with 30 votes, and Bartz from Final Fantasy 5, who had 22 votes.
Kingdom Hearts, being a collaboration between both Square Enix and Disney, not only has a variety of Disney characters in the game but also includes multiple Final Fantasy characters.
These include characters like Yuffie, Aerith, Zack, and Cloud from Final Fantasy 7, Squall, Seifer, and Selphie from Final Fantasy 8 (though Squall is known in-game as Leon), Tidus, Wakka, and Auron from Final Fantasy 10, and Cid Highwind.
Kingdom Hearts 2 even had a boss fight against Sephiroth, seen as one of the most difficult fights in the series.
While it’s unlikely we’ll have a new Final Fantasy character introduced into a major role like many of the Final Fantasy characters already in the game, the possibility of Noctis in Kingdom Hearts is something that many fans of Final Fantasy 15 might enjoy if it happens.
Noctis would also provide an interesting counterpoint to Sora, as both players have highly mobile fighting styles that would likely make a very interesting segment if he and Sora teamed up, or even if Sora teamed up with Noctis and his friends as well.
In the meantime, we’ll just have to see if Square Enix ever decides that they need to put other characters like Noctis in Kingdom Hearts.
