AMD Ryzen 3 is the series of entry-level mainstream CPUs. Like the Intel Core i3 CPUs. But unlike those the AMD chips will have 4 cores instead of 2. The 4 threads will be there as well. This means that the AMD Ryzen 3 chips will have the upper hand of having 2 additional physical cores.
As the rule goes, hyper threading is better than no hyper threading but physical cores are better than virtual ones. So yes, AMD Seems to have the upper hand here but we will need to check out actual gaming performance in order to verify how goo the CPUs are.
The AMD Ryzen 3 1200 has been teased and we have learned that the CPU will have a frequency of 3.1 GHz but as of right now we do not know whether or not it will boost to 3.5 GHz. We also do not know if the mainstream CPUs will feature XFR technology or not.
AMD Ryzen 7 has been taking a beating for the 1080p gaming performance that the series has to offer but things could be different with the more mainstream CPUs. AMD will be bringing competition to the mainstream CPUs and it will be interesting to see what kind of bang for the buck AMD will have to offer.
AMD Ryzen will be coming up soon and we are also expect AMD RX 500 series to be coming soon as well. AMD Vega is also in the works and should be coming out later this year as well. There is a lot going on with AMD at the moment.
Let us know what you expect from the AMD Ryzen 3 1200 and whether or not you are interested in building an all AMD PC this year.
