The Witcher 4 Could Work With Ciri at the Helm

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the best RPG game to release in the past decade in my opinion. What CD Projekt RED achieved with a team half the size of Rockstar is incredible.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The developer announced that The Witcher 3 will mark the end of this series. However, that statement isn’t as set in stone as we initially thought.

CD RED has hinted on a number of occasions that they are not fully ruling out another Witcher game. When talking about another Witcher one of the developers stated: “We invested 15 years of our lives in it and a lot of money. So we’ll think about it.”

CD RED designed The Witcher as a trilogy and a trilogy can not have a fourth part, said CD Project RED. The trilogy marked the end of Geralt’s story but there are stories to be told.

The most prominent character, other than Geralt, is Ciri and she can handle the lead role in the next Witcher game. We may never get to see The Witcher 4 but another Witcher game is not ruled out by any means. Ciri is the perfect lead character for a Witcher game.

We can explore her story after the events of the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

There were multiple endings to The Witcher 3 so CD RED has the luxury to choose between different story arcs. Ciri’s story has depth and there so many different aspects that can be explored.

Currently, CD RED is working on Cyberpunk 2077 so even if they consider another game it won’t be anytime soon. It could very well be another decade before we see this universe again.
